i've really been trying to hit home that some people aren't as fortunate as we are, that some don't have food, clothes, toys, and other things we take for granted. addox has really started to grasp this and his kind little heart makes me so proud. he offers to give away some of his things, even the toys/clothes he really likes. he also is really interested in why they don't have these things, and tries to come up with solutions that they can do. usually his ideas are very dead-on and logical, pretty good for a 3 year old (i am not admitting he is less than a month away from 4, mama hasn't accepted this yet!).
so, we have been doing things like putting coins in the bell-ringers, and his school is currently doing a food-drive. he came home very adamant that we go buy some food, right away. the next morning we did, and he was so happy to pick it all out. he did a wonderful job, although he still really thinks that we should have bought marshmallows (he loves them) for the other people. since the rule is that the food has to be boxed or canned, he wants to go hunt for some that come in boxes. :)
